Linguists have different ideas regarding the future of English as a global language. Let´s listen to David Crystal lecturing on the future of English as a global language and find out what his position is.

    I mean he seems like a really easygoing person. And he speaks very clear and makes the interview easygoing for everybody even for us that doesn't have English as a lingua franca

I think the interview was very interesting, not just because he explains why English is a global language, is about the history, the events had happened that made english global, and he is wondering what will happen after. And also he talks about what is happenig with that language in the younger population.

  20. For mi point of view, I like listening the interview with headphones, no I did not find it difficult, it was easy.
    Also, the interview is very interesting because David Crystal explains the evolution of the languages in case of english and how the american english dominate its mother roots, the british empire ., the differents shown in grammar, pronunciation, spelling and vocabulary.
    Besides, the british empire influences the american english, the appereance of globalization in its hands for example the influence of mac donalds with slogans and the impact of others.
    ¡I would like to listen more about David Crystal.!

  22. Although Professor David Crystal gives his reasons and explains why English became global, I think that this language is only language that all people speak around the world.
    Apart from that it´s very interesting this interview.

  39. We are living in a very interesting point in the History of Language. I like the idea of a melting pot. Languages adapt so fast, grow so fast. Who knows what will happen in the future. So many possibilities!

I love it how David crystal explain the variety of English and how many countries speaks their own English in order to identify themselves and how they change everything and I mean how they change the pronation, grammar and it has his own use which it's great in some way. It was interesting in all aspect and I watched all the video and I don't know why but I found so uselful that I can't stand watching it. In addittion David crystal talk very clear which it makes more attractive.
